Walker’s Hanging Tree

February 23, 2015

“The Hanging Tree”          Inspired
(with James Newton Howard)

Annotated by Robert Bauter

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree?
They strung up a man
They say who murdered We.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

Who Are you, Who are you
Coming to the tree?
Where dead man called out
For his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

When Are you, when are you
Coming to the tree?
Where I told you to run,
So we’d both be free.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree?
[Soundtrack line:] Wear a necklace of Nope,
Side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

Where Are you, where are you
Coming to the tree?
Where I told you to run,
So we’d both be free.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

When Are you, When are you
Coming to the tree?
They strung up a man
They say who murdered three.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree?
Where dead man called out
For his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.

Scott Walker’s No Good Very Bad Day

June 25, 2014

As an Eagle Scout myself I am horrified at the questionable ethics that led Scott Walker to co-ordinate with dark money groups in the previous elections. This John Doe II probe’s emails show the level of depravity in intentionally ignoring Wisconsin election laws. Scott Walker has demonstrated that he believes he is a sovereign citizen in regards to the rule of law. This goes against to his oath to up hold and defend the Constitution of the USA,  faithfully discharge his duties as the governor of the state of Wisconsin. As a cub scout, a boy scout, and later as an eagle scout Scott Walker took many oath’s to be a cut above the rest. Ethically if not criminally he is responsible for the criminal actions of his advisors, staffers, and the actions of his campaigns. I may disagree on politics and certain policies but that is my 1st amendment right. My civil rights are violated (as well as the rest of WI red or blue) by his actions.

What if Wisconsin

March 4, 2014

Interms on walkers impending reelection bid of 2014.
Scott Walker has brought nothing but shame to Wisconsin!! The tragedy of his election and re-election will be felt for years to come. But all his supporters care about is: he brought down those god-awful teachers and other public servants and showed them who was boss.
So what if scandals have been a huge part of his term and his people go to jail.
So what if the underbelly of his administration shows the most sleeziest side ever seen in Wisconsin with the despicable comments and actions of his staff.
So what if SKW caged voters in the recall election of 2010.
So what if he will never reach his goal of 250,000 jobs.
So what if thousands of people have lost their jobs and are unemployed.
So what if hundreds of businesses have closed in the last three years.
So what if thousands of people are hurt by having their lives and health impacted by the ACA/Medicaid decisions he has made–they must need to be punished too.
So what if a big part of northern Wisconsin will be destroyed by a mining company that has criminal charges filed against Williams in Spain.
So what if SKW has turned down millions of dollars of our money that we send to Washington that will now go to other states in the form of transportation, health, green energy, and other jobs..
So what if he spends more time out of the state than here.
So what if public schools are hurting because of the decisions made by SKW and henchmen–after all our public schools need to be punished along with all the little kids that attend them.
So what if private/religious taxpayer-subsidized schools bilk us for millions of dollars and then flee the state and set up shop elsewhere.
So what if Milwaukee is now another “bridgegate” Wisconsin style where a Democratic mayor will never get any support or funding from the “revenger.”
So what if good people are pitted against other good people through the divide and conquer strategy.
So what is SKW is bought and paid for by the Kochs and other mega-millionaires/billionaires.
So what if SKW lies through his Eagle Scout teeth and earns untrues and pants on fire ratings from Politifact. The list of so whats would fill volumes. But most importantly, he sure got those good for nothing teachers and other public servants.

What if we voted him out come this November!

Where there is smoke

Where there is smoke there is fire. Corruption begets corruption.  Main hidden feature of Walker’s repair bill is no bid sale on WI’s assets. Strip mine the Northwoods for fracking sand and copper. Two and a half billion for 600 temporary jobs is not my idea for job creation. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/exwalker-aide-fired-from-earlier-job-for-misusing-public-money-sf40b92-138341254.html

Walker aides arrested. It was Nixon that said “I am not a crook” Least we repeat history, Nero played the violin while Rome burned. Walker fundraises everywhere else but Wisconsin, the parallel is too close.

Victory In Large Measure

Here we are after the great massive protests in Wisconsin. After massive recall elections costing many times normal ones in terms of money.  The State Senate is in large under control by people at odds with Scott Walker. Still is not time to rest on Laurels. This is a short list of the damage done to our Wisconsin Life. On Forward to November, let us recall Walker himself. People usually vote to balance the excesses in their government. I challenge you to make your government your personal responsiblity.

Senator Chris Larson, in his weekly newsletter, listed some of his greater concerns of the things Walker and the Republicans did in their disregard for bipartisanship:

  • Cut $1.6 billion in funding for public education, while also cutting funds for higher education
  • Eliminated accountability and consolidated power through administrative rules
  • Spent $2.3 billion on special interests, corporate giveaways and loopholes while raising taxes and fees on working families and seniors
  • Eliminated worker’s rights
  • Reduced job retraining opportunities
  • Added a waiting period for unemployment compensation on workers who just lost their job
  • Killed wind energy jobs across the state
  • Locked out the public from the Capitol
  • Landed the state government in court over open meetings violations
  • Undermined local control by passing extreme legislation related to wetlands, redistricting, highways and sick-leave
  • Rejected federal grants to support transportation and health care that then went to other states
  • Defunded women’s health care programs
  • Removed consumer protection by changing our victim protection laws

Dark, Black Day for Wisconsin

March 10, 2011

300,000 Wisconsinites tried Valiantly to preserve a way of life. The way of a professional civil servant of the people. With this barest thread of majority, Laws lasting a century or more, were dumped out in the trash. I reverently bow my head in sorrow for all the unsung hero’s of our civilization. The sanitation worker, the teacher, the road crew, and all the public servants that make our way of life possible. The unions were the first go in Germany. Our Democracy is in peril. We must be vigilant to protect our rights. This is a failure of listening, of democratic discourse. It will take massive amounts of courage to win this future, this moment. Thomas Jefferson believed in the common man, the rugged individual, and the idea that compromise can create True Democracy. I now charge you to be stewards of our government, be responsible, take charge. Forever Forward.
